After a three years' suspension of overseas travel due to the fallout of the recent economic recession, my wife Jennifer and I approached out 19th Wedding Anniversary and decided it was time to both celebrate 19 years of covenant companionship as well as renew fellowship with out many friends in Europe in preparation for a forthcoming EuroTour 2016 for the StraightWay Team (past SW EuroTour Events soon-to-be-posted at travelwithdavid.org).
FOLLOWING is a SYNOPSIS of the ITINERARY of our trip, which will be illustrated in picture and video over the next few blog entries corresponding with the dates of our visit to these areas:
Although we would not have time to see all our pastor friends and churches, we made a trip through our primary areas of past involvement in France, Switzerland and Italy, arriving in Paris and ministering in Cambrai with Matthieu & Rachel Lemaire the first weekend (their Mother's Day), then, after 3 days in Paris, driving to Geneva-Nyon (Switzerland) area to see our dear friend Jean-Francois Bussy.
From there we drove over the Alps to Milano, Italy for the 2nd weekend to see our compatriots in ministry and dear friends Gerry & Manuela Testori & family. Then it was on to Florence, where we would spend the next couple days, before driving along the Italian Riviera (I love driving through the Italian mountain tops that run next to the Mediterranean Ocean) to the beautiful Côte d'Azur of southern France in Provence---the infamous French Riviera with its centerpieces of Monte Carlo and Cannes.
We would stay several days in Juan les Pins, near our friend Stephane Domacina, and conclude our trip with friends Yannick & Christine Hellec (and family), ministering in their church in Toulon (near San Tropez) on the final 3rd weekend of our trip. (More to come)
